A new day a new world of AMAZING people…

I have mentioned here that I am working with my friend to help her gear up for a Tri. and she is working really hard. today was NO EXCEPTION. last night we got her a bike barrowed from a friend and got it up and ready to go. now she hasnt been on a bike for a long time and was SO SCARED. but you just have to get in there with BOTH feet ( that will be funny in a min. ) and get going….

So we stand this morning at the school 3 of us there going to do a short rout of 5 mile bike and 3 mile run…. that is alot for people that are just getting into it. think about it 3 weeks. WOW right….

“are you ready for this girl”

“as ready as Im gonna be”

“K than lets go.”

we let the other gal go ahead and we hung back…. good thing we did. she was just learning figuring out how to shift and feeling the bike under her. it is a change from walking. running… and she was alittle unsure. But in the end she beet me to the end of the line. I got to watch her with her strength pull away and go full force to the end line. it was AMAZING. when her legs were starting to hurt she pushed through it. the last mile was a little iffy she kept going….

Now I was watching from behind… why? I knew you would ask that. my wonderful bike went in for serviecing yesterday and the guys did a wonderful job like they always do. I had no worries….. well maybe I should have checked the peddels but I DIDN’T. so when one fell off…. I thought … if this is a race… what woudl you do. I’D KEEP GOING! I DON’T QUIT! so that is what I did. I found a way to make it work. we went for it. made me fall rather far behind but it was all good in the end. I will have to take it in againt oday. for a new part. But whatever.

so than MY friend was off for her run. she was doing a run/ walk. and she finnished 3 miles… did you read that…. 3 MILES! and she pushed herself in places she didn’t think she would. and we together made it back to the truck stride for stride. through the SNOW! yup your reading that right. we got the biking done in enough time for the last mile of our run to be in full on snow. LOL…

than we put the bikes in her truck and she gave me a ride home. I didn’t want to do another 3 miles on one peddle. our training was over get me home.

If you are not willing to do it in the rain or the snow… you don’t do it in Alaska. 🙂 so I am going to get her to come on over and read this…. so Missy… I want you to know how proud I really am of you. My tears in the end was because I am watching a dear friend reach for something she NEVER thought she could do….and I am seeing her grow and change in ways that are so hard to do. alot of us here on this site know how hard it is. and to see you stride for stride push yourself the last 416 steps to get to the stop sign were you were able to not have me bullying you to keep running…. you DUG DEEP and I am so PROUD OF YOU!

I love you babe….

Now I get home because of the above friend and I get a txt from another. did you make it to the ride this morning I was so tired I slept 10 hours straight and didnt get there. I of course was laughing and told her what happened. everything above. she told me… WOW!!!!!! how cool is that. and you rode for 2 miles with no peddle… you silly girl… than it was… okay I am going out int he snow and riding in the after noon with my brother… you got me moving. 🙂

so two people making a BIG CHANGE… I only asked for one. I said I would be in the newspaper if it would change just ONE life. and here there are two. thank you Lord for those two people. thank you for helping them get out there and go for it.

I am PROUD OF YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!!
