Hubby and his best friend

 Sitting at the bon fire last night. Hubby’s best friend told me a story that I LOVED….. one about how Hubby had saved best friends life when he was drowning in a lake quit a few years ago….. Hubby was inside ( he over did it last night and needed the rest) So N~~~ tells me this whole story from his point of view. I had heard it from Hubby’s side… but it was so much funnier coming from him. Now I will call him the drowning moose. LOL….. the thing that got him talking about it… Hubby is known as the “Fire God” He can start a fire with NOTHING in the Worst of conditions…and he will burn it so hot you have to rotate like a roasting chicken so that you are not to well done on one side. * G*

N~~~”You know if you are drowning in early April…. in an iced over lake…. your hubby will stoke the fire. BEFORE he comes to save you out of the water.”

ME “*laughing so hard I am threatening to pee my pants* That sounds like the Fire God… he will make sure that you will l be warm once you are on the ground….. save you in a min…. But you know. HE KNEW you were going to make it till he got to you…. or he would have saved you first. Now tell me… wasn’t it nice to curl up next to that NICE WARM/HOT fire after you were in that water for so long?”

N~~~”Well yeah. and I tried to curl up next to this woman… I figured… I am freezing to death I need to get warm… she wouldn’t let me…. soooooooooo if it wouldn’t have been for that fire… well… “

Me”So than you are telling me… it was worth him stoking the fire first…..?”

N~~~”Yeah Fire God knew what he was doing. Just makes me laugh to think of me screaming as I am going under…….’YELP,YELP,’ ………. ( his only way to say help at this time) drank the last of my beer that was in my hand….(think that might have clued hubby in to that he would be fine for a few more) And your Hubby is standing on the island…. stoking a fire. Before he comes out in that canoe to save my ass…..”

Best friends… what are ya gonna do with them hun? This one has come a very long way. He was telling me a lot of the things I already knew But he told me his wake up call and who finally gave it to him…. His parents are special people. Thank you for saving such an amazing man. Hubby and N~~~~’s mommie and daddie. He is AMAZING. If it wasn’t for God leading you all… we wouldn’t have him now. You all are Hero’s.
