Here we go again.

This Article Started it all.

I wrote about things Here.

And on facebook I shared an amazing article that said all I wanted to share and SO MUCH MORE.

I Wrote about it on facebook and would like to share with you the link so you can chime in. I will put my comments below, But first, my sister…

She is well written and articulate. She has a letter to the editor. In case you cannot open it… there are screen shots here

The person that started this all off wrote about the suits. I have added screen shots of the important pieces in her article that I want to focus on. The suits that are commonly chosen, are chosen because they are cheaper. But that means they are commonly not within the right specifications. I have worn these and they will slip up the butt no matter what. You don’t have try or do it purposely, it is what it is… and a fly back French cut isn’t comfortable for the girl wearing it… or the spectators

Please let me show you the rules… here they are.

The news paper wrote another article.

“In a written statement about the incident, Jill Blackstone of Chugiak said that in the last six days, “neither ASAA nor ASD has asked for an explanation from me about the events that led to the disqualification or asked me if I had a defense to the accusations that have been leveled at me.”‘

Did you read those rules?

Let me help you…

“Suits shall be of one piece. A competitor shall not be permitted to participate wearing a suit that is not of decent appearance. Males shall wear suits which cover the buttocks and shall not extend above the waist or below the top of the kneecap. Females shall wear suits which cover the buttocks and breasts and shall not extend beyond the shoulders or below the top of the kneecap, nor cover the neck.”

So away from the body issue. Which in my opinion is the real issue, someone is unhappy that her butt is hanging out… let us look at the rule.

And what does it say…..

”PENALTIES: When an official discovers a competitor wearing illegal attire as described in Article 2, the official shall:
1. when observed prior to the start of the heat/dive, notify the coach of the competitor to make the suit legal before becoming eligible to compete. If the competitor cannot comply without delaying the start of the heat/ dive, the competitor is disqualified from that event/dive and shall not be eligible for further competition until in a legal suit;
2. when observed after the heat/dive officially begins, disqualify the competitor at the completion of the heat/dive; nullify the competitor’s performance time/score and he/she shall not be eligible for further competition until in a legal suit.”

The article with the official DID NOT ADRESS the disqualification. Why? Why was she DQ’d? Because she had a weggie

Did she try to talk to the coach first?

Did she give time for the Child to change her suit?

IF NOT AMPLE TIME CAN BE GIVEN…. THAN you are Disqualified.

Not before. Not without talking to the coach. not without allowing her time to fix it. It is supposed to be taken care of quietly and respectfully. So Miss Official. Just admit you were wrong and let us move on to the real issue.

My opinion:

In this day and age anyone can take pictures of any person and post/share/email them. I don’t fear for the children…I fear for all of us.

Our society over sexes the human body. (Thank you eve) and we see that we must cover up. Genisis…

And now it is a religious issue….

My body is beautiful and powerful. I can swim jump run. I want to be free to do it.with or without the clothing people think I should have on.

My son’s are raised to know their body is strong. That they are not an object. to believe the female body is powerful and beautiful yet Not to be objectified.

My daughter’s are raised to know they are not an object and the male body is beautiful and powerful and not to be objectified.

They are not believers in sexualizing their body or others.

When the boys take off their shirts because they are hot…. I tell my daughter’s they may do the same. It is only skin. It is not sexual until someone makes it that way.

DF OUT!
