What happens when you take a 10 year old with you to Home Depot with you?

(We call it Home DEEP HOLE for a reason. It will rob you blind…. and than some.)

This wonderful boy tells me he wants to be an inventor.

“I have no doubt that you will change the world with your inventions. ”

For the record, I don’t doubt it I have seen him make some of the coolest things.

He has made a waterfall out of old piping and water bottles.

He has made wheel barrels out of reclaimed wood and wheels from a lawn mower.

He has made light bulbs  work with old wire connections.

Now, you make look at those examples and think … those things were all ready invented… and you are right. Yet My son did that at 5.

A mind like that, is going to invent AMAZING things.

So after all this goes through my mind, which takes all of 3.5 seconds.

He says “Mom, since we are here getting the pipes for the chicken feeders… can I get some too so I can invent something….?”

“What are you going to invent? ”

“I don’t know yet…. that is the thing with us inventors mom…. we have to have things laying around. So that we have materials to get started and let the inventors juices flow….”

YOU ARE KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!!!!????!!!!

He wants to make something but doesn’t know what! AND he is going to cost me a ton of money that I don’t really have…..

STEP BACK MOMMA BEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Okay really how much is this going to cost….? so what if he wants a few 20$ bills worth of pipe…. he might make something really cool that you can write about.

Seriously, when was the last time you let him just splurge to enjoy invent time….?

“Okay babe. first mom’s gotta go… *Insert pee pee dance here* THAN we will head over to the pipe section again and we will see what we can find. ”

“HURRAY! Funny thing mom… I have to Go too!”

This smile…. well worth the 40$ in pipping…. and he has SO MANY MORE things he can make…. 🙂 I can’t wait to see what is next. waterer for the chickens I think I heard him say…. 🙂
