It is a very cool time when the kids in our area get their ONE time to dress up in Formal ware and show themselves off to their class mates and their moms and dads and well ANYONE that will take the time to look. It is the one time in their lives when they get to be Cinderella. Now I know some of you are in places were you could get dressed up and see an opera or go to a BIG shindig if you chose. but around small town U.S.A….. that doesn’t happen. you get prom…. and did I say prom…. OH YES you get PROM. so if you want to dress up trice…. you go to TWO PROMS!LOL…
So we (K~Fly and I) got an invitation to go to the Promenade with Missy and N~dear. Oh it was so much fun. Her momma and sister also showed and we all sat together. While we waited we all guessed about what colors we would see in dresses and how many of each we would see. That was a lot of fun. Than as they came out the girls would tell me what color it was so I could make sure to write it on the tally…. But than a wonderful moment came, one that I was not expecting.
A little history as to why I wasn’t expecting it than… I will tell you more.
A teacher in our school system was killed in a car crash, Her husband and 4 other kids were on their way home from Big city USA When (the official report is) Saylor fell asleep at the wheel and got into an accident head on with a pick up truck. He has a mass in his chest that they found early this morning and they are thinking that it had more to deal with his “pass out” than falling asleep at the wheel.
Never the less we have 4 children who’s lives have been changed forever and a mom/wife/teacher loved one that will be missed. (written February, 19th 2009)
So, with this history.. Out came one of the boys. Who was able to go on the HUGE Choir trip BAIRLEY this year too… He was looking good… than Out came Danni girl. Her dress was so pretty. Much of it hidden by her back brace that she has to ware for her broken back…. But her smile wasn’t quite there. Her heart was so heavy. I figured it was because she didn’t have her momma here anymore… and than her daddy still being in Anchorage having troubles. Than out rolled…. Leah in her wheel chair not receiving any help. So independent. And she looked Thin but SO GOOD! She was to be prom queen and the other two were the dutch and duchess.
On the way home Missy and I were talking about the girls and all that they have been through . So when I got home I checked thestatus.com to see how all was going on up in Anchor town with Dannie’s daddy Only to find out that he passed away that morning. Realization hit. No wonder her heart was so heavy. She lost her daddy just that morning. Darling girl is without both now. Breaks my heart. I know that he had children from his first marriage. I am sure that one of her half siblings will be taking her in. But what a change in her life. Please remember her in your prayers today. I will try my best to keep up with them so that i can update you here and there. But truthfully I am not sure were she will be now.
So you know for my darling daughter it was AN AMAZING night. She was in AWE over our dear Leanne she is a lifeguard at the pool and the only way we see her is in lifeguard stuff…. So she was all dolled up with her hair up and in BIG curls. Than she had on the most perfect pink dress. K~fly was in AWE… stared … waved a half hearted wave. More like a stunned hand out. I wish I was her kind of look. It was so cute. She says…. “ mommy its MY LEANNE” Yeah hun… it is.
Latter in the truck she wanted to know if she would be able to tell her she saw her all pretty. I told her MOST DEFFANATLY! That is why we went. Just so we could see all the girls latter and tell them how pretty they were. 🙂
enjoy your Sunday morning. And while you are at Church (OR NOT) take a moment to Pray for Danny. She has such a heavy uncertain heart right now. You can see it in her eyes. Peace of heart for her Please.
