Christmas time again

This is one of my favorite times of year. There are a lot of reasons for that. this is the time that we celebrate Jesus’ birthday. we are able to be together with family. AND we get to go and watch our little ones on stage singing with thier class mates. I personaly like that part a lot.

there were a lot of neat things about this year. than there were some not so good things about it. we used to have Mrs. L. and she didnt stand for crazies out of the kids or out of the parents. she made it known that she wanted it to be orderly. were that is wonderfull and I enjoyed it. I always thought it was a bit much to ask out of little kids K-2nd. they had a 2 hour long program that didnt start till 7pm… my kdis go to bed at 8pm. so that was always BEYOND me.

Let me tell you some of the differences. Mrs. L. she wanted each kid to have a special part. that way all the parents would get to see thier little one at some pount with a special something to do. i.e. the reason it always took 2 hours. she went through by class. so if there were 4 k classes and there were 4 1st and 4 2nd classes. well you get the point it drug out…..

Mrs. L was always so fearfull to put the real reason of christmas in teh program that she went so far last year that it was all about every other nation and nothing about Christ. all song were ones that she wrote or found that were about being Jewish, or quanza, and most of all about Santa and getting gifts. Seperation of church and state and all.

So fast forward to the new guy. He started this year at our elementry school. He has a different idea of what christmas is about. He brought out some old songs that I hadnt heard in a long time. A few kids did intros into songs that gave the history of Christmas. Do YOU know what year Christmas became a national holiday? Do you know that Kids around the U.S. were forced to go to school on Christmas day all the way up untill this date.? See I didnt know all this. I didnt know the history myself. SO….. it was interesting to me.

He kept in the meaning of christmas by even singing a song that talked about one child … born born born on Christmas morn. Now that might make some of the J.W.’S int he odieance made. it might even make the Jewish mad, But this is the FIRST time in 9 years worth of these that I have gone to that good old Christmas songs were sung. and it felt good.

Now here is the bad part. this young man… he let those kids be active up there. and he had all the parents wave to thier little ones. let them hoot and holler and it was MAYHEM. now when Mrs. L. did it…. the kids got up there were quiet she told the adience what she expected of them as well. and it was wonderfull. there was MORE screaming for kids to look at the parents that I have ever HEARD IN MY LIFE!

you can tell that the 2nd graders had Mrs. L. in Kindrgarten. because they acted like she would have expected them. the others didnt even look like they were trying.
Big difference. So without further adu. here is a player with my girl on it. she had a special part. that is at the very end of the 6 min. song on here….. LOL. she is standing in a gray and black dress closest to the camera. 😉 witha wooden block in her hands. she did a GREAT job. and she was so nervous. ) ENJOY!
