busy day

I just got back from the hospital getting a few more tests done on the kidney. I am looking forward to knowing how healthy it is now that it has been a  full year. (or how sick) Than right after that I had to run back to the house grab my oldest and get him to his swimming lesson. I had talked to coach yesterday about how he was doing. What he needed to work on… was he going to pass. that was the big one for me. Because he HATES to fail… I need to set him up for it if it is something that he isn’t going to pass….

Coach said. ” the only thing holding him back is his breast stroke. kids either get the butterfly or the breastroke but rarely do they get both right off.”

So I explained to my boy what all was going on. How he was realy strong in all the other strokes that he has come so far. But that he more than likely would be held back one more time untilhis breast stroke is stronger. that realy hun you ALMOST have it. But you need some more work on it. so UNLESS you get in the pool and prove to him that you can do it….. than… you will be back one more time. But remember you MAIN GOAL was to get on the swim team and you have done that. so you BIG GOAL is already there. and this is just icing on the cake….

He handled it realy well. untill he got to the pool. than he just couldn’t let the coach tell him that he isn’t strong enough in that stroke. He worked hard and coach saw what was happening. “He is tring to prove me wrong … isn’t he?”

Yeah he is…. so …. coach gave him EXTRA tries. he kept having him swim the breast stroke while others were doing something else. got him on the table and made him feel what his feet were supposed to do with coach MAKING them go in the right places at the right times….Than he had him get in the pool for another run at it. than I heard coach say to one of the kids. And I thought it was mine…. “Nope you are gonna stay in four for a while… there is A LOT to learn in this class… so we are gonna learn more together.” now I looked over to see my son’s dissapointment and I said. this is when we look at coach and say… ” yes sir… or yes coach” And he looked right at coach and did as I asked with a bit of tears in his eyes.

I thought. OH BOY it is gonna be a hard day. But we will get passed it like we always do. Than when he got the paper from coach he couldn’t contain his excitment. he was running to me. “MOM MOM MOM…….. I PASSED! I DID IT!. everyone thought it would take me 4 times and I did it in ONE…. ” So we called auntie and than we went home to jump on dad in bed. who was no longer in bed. but the effect was still the same. one more class before the school year. Than it will be wait untill November for the team. But I am so excited for him and for me. we are going to get to do this together as well. I am so proud of the kids. 😉

 enjoy my friends…… 😉
