Last week…

Was such a busy week. Monday I had Hubby in Anchorage. We found out that even the Oncologist was worried about hubby. So we scheduled a PET CT that was to be done as soon as it could be. Well you have to have THE diet for 3 days. So it was made for Thursday afternoon.

Which as you know that was the national Geographic, geography Bee week. And my son. In 4th grade. MADE IT. He beat his school and I was taking him up to do that. So Busy busy busy. We got up there and took my boy to a mall he had NEVER been too. Were the Hot Dog on a stick place is. And he found that he LOVES their Lemon aid. We played a video game called the Wii. That was a BLAST. And he is good at it too. I have decided that if we are going to cave and get one of those stupid game systems in the house. It will be that one. You have to stand up and move around. It is a lot of fun and intense. So much so that My son almost knocked over a whole display rack. LOL. It was hilarious.

So than we ran off to the hospital to get Daddy all settled in for a nice winters nap. While he was getting scanned, Little man and I went around and he got to look at all the Dr.’s offices that we have been living in for so long. He also met a lot of people that saved his daddies life. It was neat to see the reaction that they had with Him and what he said to them. Most of them. He thanked for his daddy. Heart touching. He needed that almost as much as they needed it.

Than when daddy was out we went and checked into the hotel and got things situated. Would you believe that the boy stayed up till 3am. Than turned around and got up at 5am. Talk about eager. I made him lay till 6am. Put him in the shower and than we went next door to eat at a little cafe while daddy got a little more sleep. He had a long day to look forward too and we couldn’t sleep anymore. So off we went. We talked about what he was going to do that day. And no matter what happened that Daddy and I were so proud of him. He had to beat out all the other kids in his school. Than he had to take a test that was sent to National Geographic in D.C. And there they checked the results and put him in a group according to his scores.

That in itself that he knew enough knowledge to GET There….. How AMAZING!

When we got there we got to see famous people in our area. Like the mayor and the super intendant of our BIG city. They are on the TV all the time and it is neat to get to see people like that for a little guy. Okay for us too. * G* so we went through the first orientation. Then we were all put in our rooms and the preliminaries started. #1 did amazing. I didn’t know the answers to any of his questions. But he did. He got the first 3 right . Missed the 4th one. Than got the 5th one right. Than the last three wrong. But he told the lady on the 4th one that he would have gotten it right if he would have remembered the other choice and that she was mumbling. He stopped the whole competition to tell her that. Well she simply looked at him and told him. “ Next time you will ask for a repeat.” that stopped the fight. I was proud of him that he let it go. A lot of growing up.

So here is how he placed. If he would have gotten the 4th question with a repeat. He would have been in 4th place out of 20. He placed in the top 40% overall. In his room he beat out all the 5th, 6th, and 7th graders. I am pleased as punch.

We talked about next year and I think he will be trying to do it again. I am so proud of him.

Than after we watched the finals and he got his T shirt and his cert. And got to shake the mayors hand. We went back to the hospital. There we found out that his daddy was ALL CLEAR…. Yes you read that right.

ALL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

They did a blood test and found that his testosterone level is extremely low. And man his age should be around 600 and he is only 200. that is even too low for a 60 year old man. Poor guy. Good thing we had all our kids already. They are looking to give him hormone pills or gel to work it out for him. So we will know more soon. I am so happy. This is the worse of two evils for sure.

So there you have a weekend fit for a very happy momma. My son is more successful than i ever dreamed and my Husband will be here for the rest of his 68 years of wife torment. * wiggles brow*

When there is more .. I will share. I hope to have all his pictures up soon. Till than.
