biking

227 miles and counting

we are not finnished with week 12. But I am ALMOST there. so I thought I would send you a message in a bottle that lets you know how I am doing.

I ran my longest so far last saturday.w hich sent my knees into a fit of pain… my heals thought they were going to revolt and NEVER let me walk again than I got a nights sleep and a monday in the pool. 2,700 yards latter. I was feeling like a million bucks. untill… YUP YOU GUESSED IT… I got out of the pool and gravity put me on my heals again. OH BOY. so on Tuesday I ran through it… and it started to get better…. than I swam for 2400 after my 4 miles. than on Wednsday 8 miles and 1000 yards. than comes Thursday… Today… 4 m ore mile on the ol feet. and 2400 in the pool. I tell you without the pool for my feet after a run I think I would cry the rest of the day. a nap and even though my feet are sore…. I AM ALMOST THERE!!!!

Womens run on sat… 2X’s through for me… but it will be a great 12 mile run. I am looking forward to it. people on the trail. WAHOO!!!!

Marathon momma out!

Marathon training….

Another day in the life of momma fly… today was the last day of week 4. Why is it that it feels like it has been so much longer than that…. and today was the 10 mile day…. or SO I THOUGHT! I don’t know how I got it in my head that today was  10 miles…. But I did. so I RAN IT! DUMB DUMB DUMB…. I could have gotten off only running NINE!!!! OH WELL! I am a week ahead than. LOL… does that mean I get an extra week of rest? Yeah, I didnt think so. But it was worth a try.

So this is the rout that I took today… and i need to give you the week over view. It will be different BY FAR than other weeks I have shared. Why? you ask… well I will give you the way it was supposed to look. than I will tell you what it DID look like. : ) ready or not here it comes….

Monday swim
Tuesday Run 3 swim
Wednesday run 4 swim
Thurdsday Run 3 swim
Friday swim and bike
Saturday run 9 m iles… but I am an overachever and thought 10.
Sunday rest.

Here is what the week REALY LOOKED LIKE…..

Monday swim 6,200 yards
Tuesday Run 3 miles worth of fartlicks with a friend and swim 4,800 yards start puking at 1730
Wednesday still puking but go into work for a few min only to be sent home.
Thursday got up and sat in the nice warm water and coached. than worked for a few hours. went home
FRIDAY… FELT OH SO MUCH BETTER! ran 4 miles than got in the pool and swam 3,900 yards. and was EXHAUSTED!
Saturday made up the 3 mile run with my son at the Nikiski fun run and pulled a first place for old ladies. LOL…
Sunday up early and out for my 10 mile overacheving run!

So did I get all my miles in. unconventionaly But YES I DID!

Am I dead… NO BUT I have a purple ankle from rolling it on a root/rock thing in the trail run with my son. when they were giving out the medels L.M. says first place goes to Momma fly with a time of….. on a sprained ankle. it is ok realy and I am happy with my run this morning. It was sore in the begining but it is well. and I have Advil and ice. : )
that always makes things better….

so I am 65 miles into this thing…. only 370 more miles to go….

WOW! what a Day! I am lucky that it was a small field. : ) I was able to place 2nd in my age group. we tried to take pictures of the results. They didn’t come out the best. But I do have this cool picture!

COACH JUDY!!!!!!

she is AMAZING! and I am lucky really lucky to have her on my team. so thank you Judy. I wish I was faster I wish all my turns would have been perfect. but a 7:40 on my injured arm is ROCKEN! and so I am okay with that….

a 33:43 on my bike (10 miles HILLY!)… and a 34:02 on my run (3.1 and a hilly trail run) Makes for a  1:17:04.1 or there abouts.

Now mind you that swim time…  is swim and transition. so is the run time. : ) bike time is strickly bike. NICE RIGHT!?!?

I am ready to sign up for this one again ! RIGHT NOW! it was the best…a nd I am so happy with myself. I thinkt he transition time is wrong on my swim. but all is well. I will get it next time. i have alot of improvement to make … I CAN DO IT!

My girls rocked  it… and I am so proud of them.. Miss Anna. my ROCK she came in second behind Cori in thier age group.  Sandra she cam in 10th in my group… Miss America came in 13th in hers! and her momma 4th in hers. Americas daughter came in 6th in her age group. one of my swimmer boys came in 3rd…. than another gal Mrs. K she came in 3rd behind me and her kids came in 8th (girl) and 6th (her boy)… those are allt eh ones in my mind… and I am SO PROUD OF THEM ALL! when i get the results in the paper tomorrow. I will make sure that you get the link…

Till than… I have been fed. THANK YOU DON JOSES…. I have had my sports massage…. THANK YOU CORTINIE! and now I am off to bed! Night night….

The best part of the day. My mom showing up with a sign for me…. and my kids and my husband chasing me down and someone at every turn that was family just to say… HEY MOMM GIRL you CAN DO IT! if it hadnt been for them all these years… Ir ealy couldnt have. THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ME!

I start all over again in the water tomorrow morning. 0600 baby! Not a bad Marathon training day for today at ALL!

day 21

today supposed to be a 5 mile run…. as I have stated I did that earlier in the week so that I could do Just the 3.1 in the tri this morning.

What are your funny things you have to do before a race? mine are silly. I get up early 0500 race starts at 1000 But I know I have to be there to see my kids swim at 0830. I take a shower it is the first thing I do. I am the kinda girl that HATES to shave my legs. and I mean that with all my being. Those legs could wait a year or two and it wouldnt bother me. But my pits. well those and other things MUST be done. But on race day, I get up ubeer early so that I can sit in the shower and shave those legs. you see the hair on said legs could slow me down in the water. : ) I know that is not all true. But it is something that i have done since my frist race in high school. than we let it grow untill regions. and ALL OF US got personal best times. : ) that and we took first place. : )

so Today I got up took my shower layed ont he bottom with the hot water beating on me visualizing. something my coach taught me in high school. and you know when you visualize the perfect race… it doesnt always happen. and that is okay with me. So I visualize bad stuff, and how I overcame it. and I have noticed when I am out ther racing that HELPS. I already have it figured out IF something happens. and that is a great thing to have. : )

There is a group of our swimmers taht are going to be doing the kids tri today. and I am looking forward to it. our 8 year old star will be there. and my best friends little (10) and Mrs. M’s Kids (7) and (10) I think… will be there and little Miss K’ will be there… and so many more. I am looking forward to it. It is so neat to see them out there tri’ing something new… and what a cool sport to get into . : )

So there will be another update after the race. not sure about results and how that will go. But when I get them. you will have them. PROMISE!

I am off to pick up one of the teenagers to help dad with the kids. get some batteries and get back home to pack up. see you on the FLIP SIDE!
