In a pool, obviously, it's clear and you can see the lane lines and stay in them. In open water, you can't see ANYTHING and you surely can't rely on the people around you to keep going in the right direction. It's pretty difficult to swim freestyle and turn your head to breathe but still lift it in such a way to see that buoy. Practice, practice, practice! Oh yes … it’s SO much harder than it looks!
